Got to Mr Butlers for 2020, we sat down discussing our plans for a great project that we are working together on.
We were discussing our sequence of the day, what we wanted to start with and how we want it to look. Food was on the go... which is always a winner, couple of cold ones then it was time for shut eye as we had to make sure everything was firing at 100%.
So it hit 0030, after watching a few scenes from films for a little last minute inspiration, it was time to recharge the system.
Sunday morning... the smell of fresh coffee being made by Mr Butler was in the air. As we were discussing our journey up to Hereford, I decided to be a little bit more decadent about my coffee and asked if I could have some frothy milk. To one’s disgust he did not have the equipment to deliver. So we had to devise a new plan using a coffee press, step 1... heat milk in microwave step2.... pour contents into press step 3.... work the shaft up and down till you see the froth and milk double in size step 4.... enjoy your hard work.
A lot of hard work for a coffee that said was enjoyed all the same, now to get into work mode and get up to the project.
So we arrived at HR4K, looked like the fog we booked for the day turned up a little early. We started to walk around the set, discussing best place to get the angles and backdrop for the project to work to the effect we will wanting to create.
So filming was set to start at 1600, so we had a few good hours to make sure the team we put together were on the same page and understand the aim of the day.
Coffee was put on by our host, which flowed all day which keep the crew going. We had a few extra guest for the day 2x Belgium mallies, who worked great all day. That said towards the end of the day they did get restless, all in all they performed when needed.(no beards were taken on the day)
Before we could start, 8 large pizzas had to be eaten!
So it came time to start filming, Guy started to get his Micheal bay on. So we got the boys kitted up and started immediately as what we wanted to achieve needed to be done quickly hence so many walk throughs, so the team was on the ball. As they found out they had to do many takes till it was perfect, to be honest these lads did everything we asked and even spoke about how they actually admired actors who have to act in front of a green screen and imagine you are on a set with transformers.
My roll for the day, was to make sure that all the lads were squared away with their kit, looking the part. Getting behind the scenes pictures and videos, plus a small cameo as can not have the beard in(the world would end lol).
So me and Mr Bay(Butler) packed everything up and left our great host HR4K around 2100. A very productive day indeed and personally from me I would like to Thank HR4K, Contact Coffee and Groundhammer beer for letting me part of this great little project.
I now look forward to the next project I do with Black Site Media.
